Two medications given prior to departure to help prevent stress related diarrhea. (metronidazole and toltrazuril) Most puppies that leave their home and travel to their new home do experience some stress related stool issues. One common one is called Coccidia and another is Giardia. These are both common in puppies that are around other puppies or dogs such as in kennels, boarding facilities or dog parks.  Please see the page Puppy Parasites 101

Heartworm Prevention and  Flea/Tick preventions is recommended to start AFTER 12 wks.

Some vets opinions on the time between their parvo boosters.  In our kennel environment we do start a little earlier and some may feel we do them a little too close together.  We have used the 6,8, 10,12 system for 20 years, so we know it works.  No one really knows when moms immunity wears off so we start at 6 weeks.  Some vets may or may not count this first shot.  But we don't allow them to start them over !  Please voice your opinion to your vet!

We do all we can to prevent parasites and disease. Only the best quality and most effective vaccinations and dewormers are part of their care. You will receive a complete vaccination record with the dates of vaccinations and actual stickers off the vial so your vet will have no question what has been given and what is due. Vets always brag on our thorough records sent home with our babies!
