| PETIT JEAN PUPPIES LOCAL VISITS AND SALES: This is not a pet store and is not open 24/7 for drop in visitors, you MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT before you come and be pre-approved by completing the online adoption form! Local pickup is great and preferred. Or I can meet you closer if you prefer for a gas cost fee. If you plan to pick up your puppy here in Oppelo, Arkansas, please remember that your puppy price does not include a vet exam. I am very aware of genetic issues and do plan my breedings carefully, and I know what to watch for in a sick puppy, but I am not a vet. The puppies are of course taken to the vet if they have been sick, but only the shipped puppies include this vet checkup and health certificate. So if you wish for your puppy to be examined prior to you picking it up, please request this and understand that $50 will be added to your puppy price. The main reason i mention this is if you drive a long distance and get the puppy home and your vet does find a problem. This would be a long drive for a return of a puppy. I have only had 2 puppies returned since 1998. I can also book you an appointment with a local veterinarian here if you wish to take the puppy yourself. Remember you do have three business days to have your puppy vet checked and can get a full refund if a life threatening genetic disease is found. I do not accept personal checks, cashiers checks or money orders for local pick ups. Cash is preferred but I do now offer debit or credit card payments! VISITS: I welcome local visits! Although I will remind you that this is not a pet store equipped for public traffic. I will show you only a few puppies at a time in my house or out on the lawn. So please decide before you come which exact puppies you wish to view. Please understand that I do not allow people to walk thru the nursery where the mommies and babies are because we have mommies that are either pregnant, in labor, or just nursing newborns and we can't have traffic thru disturbing them. Some moms are nervous with strangers around and are overly protective and get so upset that they can trample their puppies. So you can see why we don't allow you to visit the nursery. It's not that we are ashamed of our facility or that it is dirty, it's just more important that we give moms their own safe place where they can feel safe and secure with their babies. My vet also suggested no public traffic for disease prevention. Just ask and we will be glad to show you the parent dogs of the puppies you look at (weather permitting). I no longer show puppies under 6 wks old. They must have their first shots before they can be shown. Please do not wear strong perfume and hold a puppy, some mothers will refuse their puppy after a new scent is all over their puppy! This has happened ! Please make your visit may be brief, as we have babies needing our care. Most visits are about 45 min to one hour. I have had people stay as long as 4 hours. PLEASE be considerate of my time and my family. Before your appointment is booked, you will be asked to complete the online adoption form, so that I can appropriately help you chose a puppy to suit your family. Please do not bring any dogs or puppies on my property. I just can not risk exposure to disease. I am sure you can understand. Please ask questions before making your deposit as they are non-refunable. For theft purposes, I will have you call or text me from the Morrilton, I-40, Exit 108, and I will give you directions from there to the house, but not until then. I hope you understand why I do not post directions on my site. I am about 30 minutes from Conway and 40 min from Russellville and 50 min from Little Rock. There is a map at the bottom of this page directing you to the nearest exit. WHEN WILL MY PUPPY BE READY?? Most larger toy size puppies are ready by 8-10 wks old. Teacups from 10-14 wks old. But, If you are driving here from a long distance or flying here, you must be flexible. If you are booking a cheaper fair ticket, you need to realize that a puppy may not be ready at exactly 8 weeks old. There is no way for me to determine exactly when each and every puppy is ready. Please do not book your flight way in advance and expect the puppy to be ready by 8 wks old. While most toy and larger size puppies are ready by 8 weeks, there is always a pup that might not wean well and need to be kept here longer to make sure that he or she is eating good. Also, if you are driving here and are requesting time off from work, please remember that the dates we set are not set in stone! PLEASE BE FLEXIBLE! THESE ARE LIVING PUPPIES NOT PRODUCTS ON A SHELF WE CAN PULL OFF AT ANY DATE! Puppies can not leave here until they are eating well on their own-- no exceptions ! There are also other factors that could delay your puppies ready date: catching cold, vaccine reaction, or other illness. I can refuse sale to anyone for any reason.
